In a quiet corner of the world, where the wind helps heavy dreams float, lives Bobbin — a huge, round, blue-purple elephant covered in soft little spots that children love to count. Despite his size, he's the most easily frightened creature you can imagine: afraid of noise, of surprises, of big clouds and, above all, of mice. When the fear hits hard, he ties his colorful balloons on and drifts slowly up into the sky, saying "excuse me" even to the wind. He is gentle, ever so polite, and always apologizing — even when he did nothing wrong.

On the other side of that same world lives Querie, a tiny grey mouse with enormous front teeth — some bright white, others not so much. He's mischievous, stubborn and full of giggles, always chewing on something and dreaming up pranks to pull on his friends. He hates brushing his teeth and has already lost a few because of it, but he covers his mouth when he laughs, a little embarrassed. Querie is one of those who look like pure mischief on the outside, but on the inside carry a curious little heart, eager to belong.

When their paths finally cross, the fright is enormous — after all, no one expected a giant elephant could tremble so much in front of such a tiny mouse. But it's in that unlikely meeting that Bobbin and Querie begin to discover something important: that being afraid doesn't make anyone smaller, and that caring for one another can be just as brave as facing a giant. Between balloons that rise, little teeth that fall and laughter slipping through their paws, the two learn that the most beautiful friendships tend to be born right where you least expect them.
